Overdrive is the team based FIRST Robotics Competition for 2008. The game takes place in an arena called "the track," which contains two overhead passes containing trackballs. The object of the game is to complete laps around the track, while either launching the trackballs over the overpass or kicking it underneath. At the end of the match teams score bonus points by placing the trackballs back on the overpass.

What was the first FIRST competition?
US FIRST 
 
The first FIRST competition was in 1992, titled Maize Craze. There have been 16 games since. The first competitive Tech Challenge competition was in 2006, titled Half-Pipe Hustle.
